Dell hasn’t as yet announced a follow up to the Dell Streak, although it looks like they have a new device in the works, as a new ‘mobile Internet device’ from Dell has just received WiFi certification (PDF).
The WiFi Certification describes the new device from Dell as a ‘Category: Smartphone, dual-mode (Wi-Fi and cellular)’, and it is given the model number M01M.
This could possibly be the new Dell Streak 2, all we know about it so far is that it comes with support for 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, unfortunately there aren’t many other details as yet.
Hopefully we will get some more information on the new Dell Streak 2 at CES 2011 in January.

Google's impressive Nexus S Android smartphone is now available to buy in the UK from select Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse stores.
A top-notch phone that polishes many of the problems found with the original Nexus One handset, the Nexus S has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, NFC and a 5-megapixel camera, all sitting on top of the sleek Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
SIM-free prices weigh in at £429.99, while contracts with Carphone Warehouse see you bag the handset for free on a £30 a month tariff.
Remember to ring ahead if you're planning on picking up the handset in person though; only "key" stores have on-site stock, so you may have to wait for a home-delivery otherwise.
Sony Ericsson is getting ready to introduce its new Xperia on February 13th on the annual Mobile World Congress show. Many are hoping the new member of Xperia will be the rumored PSP phone but there’s always disappointment along all expectations.
The pictures above is what most of us hoping the gaming device that many has been waiting for. However, we can’t be sure since Sony Ericsson has not mention anything. It could any other Xperia devices out there to be stock. During CES 2011, we really expecting for Sony Ericsson to finally introduced the world first PSP phone.
Samsung has had great success with the Galaxy S smartphone and also the Galaxy Tab tablet, they also launched another new Galaxy device which they were hoping would take on the iPod Touch, the Samsung Galaxy Player.
One of the reasons that Apple has been so successful with the iPad Touch, is that it has all the features of the iPhone, excluding the phone part, while Samsung’s first Galaxy Player featured lower specifications than the Galaxy S smartphone.
Samsung will be showing off a new Galaxy Player at CES 2011, and it looks like this new version has much more in common with the Galaxy S smartphone, it will come with Android 2.2 Froyo and will feature a 1GHz processor.
There is no AMOLED display though, instead it will come with a 4 inch Super Clear LCD display, plus a 3.2 megapixel camera and a front facing vga camera for video chat.
It will be interesting to see what the new Samsung Galaxy player is like, and whether it is able to compete against the massively popular iPod Touch.
Cricket is going to release the Samsung Suede SCH-r710 music phone, along with its new Muve Music service in January 2011. The Suede is a stylish full-featured messaging phone with a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 3 Megapixel camera with camcorder, 135MB internal memory and a microSD memory card.
The Samsung Suede SCH-r710 has a dedicated Muve Music button, which provides Cricket customers with one-touch access to download music instantly over Cricket’s 3G network. The phone’s UI also features with customizable widgets, for instant access to popular social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.
The Samsung Suede is priced at $199 and the Cricket unlimited plan including Muve Music is $55 per month.
The dual-core Tegra 2 LG Optimus 2X smartphone powerhouse has just been given a January release date, ending speculation that the phone would only be a treat for those living in the Korean manufacturers homeland.
"The exclusive music will be preloaded on LG smartphones starting with the LG Optimus 2X set to debut next month in Europe," said LG's official press release.
With an estimated selling price of around £470, it's a pricey but powerful handset, running Android 2.2 on a 4 inch touchscreen.
It may also be the most tuneful smartphone out next year too, as LG have bizarrely bagged lengendary spaghetti western composer Ennio Morricone to write some ringtones for the phone.
"LG smartphone users will be able to enjoy a total of 25 of Morricone's creations -- 15 ringtones composed specifically for LG and 10 of his best-known tunes from the world of cinema," explained LG.

Regional carrier MetroPCS is ticking three more checkboxes today as it keeps pushing its ongoing LTE network rollout, and they're big ones: on top of Sacramento, they've added Boston and none other than New York City. That makes the carrier second to launch LTE in the Big Apple -- Verizon's already there -- but you can't take away from the fact that MetroPCS beat the big guys with their first live commercial markets by several months. Meizu CEO Jack Wong has been teasing the M9 handset for some time now, and if we're not mistaken, the official site just went live with a full list of specs to boot. As promised, there's a 3.5-inch 960 x 640 resolution screen (reportedly the Sharp ASV display), and we're also apparently looking at a 1GHz S5PC110 processor (just like the Samsung Galaxy S), Android 2.2, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, A-GPS, 802.11b/g/n, microSDHC, a removable 1370mAH lithium-polymer battery, and support for (drumroll, please) GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA,and HSUPA. Too good to be true? Word on the street is this very phone will be available December 25th in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and will expand to the rest of China days later. We'll believe it when we see it.

Remember the Windows Phone 7 ads, the ones that promised to "save us from our phones" by giving us more "glance and go" information? For the most part, these phones haven't delivered on that promise due to the relative dearth of apps taking advantage of Microsoft's live tile concept. That changes a bit today thanks to an update to the HTC Hub app that ships with every Windows Phone 7 device manufactured by HTC. Now, instead of a generic double-wide icon, the HTC Hub presents you with the current weather condition and temperature and the forecasted highs and lows. As such, you'll never have to click through and be subjected to HTC's overwrought animations that feel so out of place on Microsoft's more demure user interface. More please.
MetroPCS launches a new affordable Android smartphone, the Huawei Ascend (U8230). The phone runs Android 2.1 Eclair OS. It features a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording, WiFi connectivity and a microSD card slot for expansion.
The Huawei Ascend is priced at $179, with no contract needed.
Discounts are raining down from the heavens these days as retailers try to offload old stock and do a bit of tidying up before rolling in the fresh batch of 2011 smartphones. The white iPhone 4 may have become vaporware, but that doesn’t mean you cant stick one under (or on) the tree this Christmas. Let the iPhone 4 Keyboard case wars begin! We can not help but Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone (also known as Zeus Z1), and we're guessing neither you. We just made a new video of the device in action, it is now running Qualcomm Neocore reference app. As you can see, the device managed 24.4 frames per second on average. This does not seem much - our S Nexus, for example, just 55.6fps removed - but keep in mind, this is not the software (or hardware without doubt), there is therefore no conclusions can reference all this right now. Suffice it to say that this is another beautiful view over the phone as we inch closer to the finish line we are not yet in sight. Google and Samsung officially announce the Nexus S, their Android collaboration, which is the second Android phone released by Google, following the Nexus One by HTC. The Nexus S, as its name suggests, is pretty much based on Samsung’s own Galaxy S smartphone. Most notable new features include a 4-inch Contour display with curved glass screen, capacitive touch sensor and anti-fingerprint display coating; built-in Near Field Communication (NFC) connectivity and the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
The Nexus S, like other Galaxy S phones, is powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird Cortex A8 processor. It has 16GB internal storage capacity but lack microSD card slot for expansion. The “curved” smartphone has a 5 Megapixel camera and a front VGA camera. However, its 5Mpix cam records only 720×480 video, lacking 720p HD video capability found on all Galaxy S models.
The Nexus S supports GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, quad-band GSM/EDGE, tri-band HSPA networks, and microUSB connection. Other features include haptic feedback vibration, three-axis gyroscope, accelerometer, digital compass, proximity sensor, light sensor and software noise-cancellation. The Android 2.3 handset comes with a 1500 mAH Lithum Ion battery that allows for talk time up to 6.7 hours on 3G and standby time up to 17.8 days on 3G.
As for availabity, Nexus S will be sold unlocked and carrier-independent initially through Best Buy stores in the U.S. and after December 20 at Carphone Warehouse stores in the UK.
You might remember yesterday's brouhaha over LG's seemingly false claim that Android 2.3 Gingerbread requires a 1GHz processor or better, using it as a justification for keeping an official upgrade out of the hopes and dreams of Optimus One owners around the globe
So they're taking responsibility for jumping the gun and have committed to "evaluating the upgradability" of the Optimus line once Google's published Gingerbread's official requirements and turned loose the source code. Of course, it's possible they'll ultimately find another reason for keeping the phones stuck on Froyo -- but for now, we've got a sliver of hope.

TerreStar launches its Genus, the world’s first integrated cellular-satellite smartphone running WIndows Mobile 6.5 OS. Aim to bring satellite phone to the mainstream market the Genus is priced at $1,149.99. Looks just like an ordinary bar-type QWERTY smartphone, the Genus connects to both AT&T’s GSM / HSPA cellular network and TerreStar-1 satellite access.
The TerreStar Genus features a touchscreen, a QWERTY keyboard, and a 2 Megapixel caera with video recording. It supports Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi connectivity also. The Genus measures 4.7 inch x 2.5 inch x 0.8/0.6 inch and weighs 4.6oz.
The MID, most recently personified by the Archos devices and OQO is very close to being a class of off. I do not see that sad fact - that we just spent the best features. But I feel a pang of pity for the latest generation of this form factor, once loved. The OCS7 looks like a slick little device - or would be a year or two, when such devices were still considered practical.
I mean, look at him. It 's like a hyper-tension PSP with Windows 7, or at least a personal taste. For some it is a gadget of your dreams, but for the most part is too complicated a device with the worst of both worlds.
It has some pretty specific and Windows 7 will probably be quite good, and the case seems pretty sweet, but at this stage, it's like a coach calls. I think it'll actually sell quite a few fans in Korea and in other areas where MID category is still viable (I doubt they would also come to the U.S. anyway), but there is probably one of the last of its kind.
Update: it seems that there is a OCS1 and OCS7. The translations are clear enough, and they seem to be the gaming devices based on ... but in any case, they are still an endangered species.

2 Tegra excited to finally take the world by storm Android smartphones? Recent losses of LG and Motorola certainly suggest that NVIDIA is finally making progress with silicon somewhere in honeycomb gingerbread or delay - and it might happen sooner or later if a message is on Facebook believing. Remember Olympus glossy black (pictured above) who fled last week? Someone in the captain's chair of one of AT & T official accounts, Facebook has responded to a question about the availability of the phone before today, matter of factly that "the Olympian Motorola expected to be available in December or January." We were ready to cast for the confusion on the part of an employee, but the post was subsequently removed without a trace, and monitoring with AT & T has created a standard "we have no information to share on devices to be" answer. The company said the announcement was made "by mistake" and we agree with them on a level at least, neither AT & T, Motorola or information to slide today.
We recently caught sight of dummy units of the upcoming Android-powered Motorola Bravo and Motorola Flipside at Costco and now both phones are available for purchase from AT&T. The Bravo will set you back $129.99 on contract, while you'll need to pay $429 without one. Specifications of the Bravo include a 3.7-inch 854 x 480 pixel touchscreen display, MotoBLUR, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, 3-megapixel camera, expandable memory and an 800MHz processor. The Motorola Flipside will only set you back $99.99 on contract and offers you a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen display, sliding QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3-megapixel camera. The downside is that both devices will be powered by Android 2.1 and there isn't any mention of when the Froyo update will be released.
The Samsung I9000 Galaxy S can add another highlight to its connectivity spec list - Wi-Fi Direct. Wi-Fi Direct is a very new technology and the Galaxy S is among the first devices to support it - and certainly the first phone in the short list.
If you've missed our post on Wi-Fi Direct, it's a technology that aims to remove the need for a router, so that you can connect two devices directly and enjoy the fast transfer speeds of Wi-Fi b/g/n (the Samsung Galaxy S supports the three) (with some WPA2 security for a good measure).
The great thing about Wi-Fi Direct is that only one of the devices needs to be Direct-enabled for the connection to work.
Enabling Direct on already available devices is possible too - via a software update. So, Samsung I9000 Galaxy S owners will be able to use Wi-Fi Direct with their current hardware.
At this point it's not clear how (and when) the Galaxy S will receive the update - firmware update or an app. Either way, we're modders will sure be quick to port it to other phones.
Check it Microsofties, it's time to get back into the game. While some phones have already launched in Europe and beyond, today is the first day that you can put down cash in the US for a Windows Phone 7 device all your own. The Microsoft online Store just loosed the HTC HD7 (T-Mobile), HTC Surround (AT&T), and Samsung Focus (AT&T). Rumor has it that the 4.1-inch Dell Venue Pro (T-Mobile) will be out on shelves at Microsoft retail locations today as well. So why not use that extra hour of wakefulness that Apple provided to think it over?
Meizu hasn’t been coy about their followup to the lawsuit-inspiring, iPhone-clone M8. The Meizu M9 has been getting all sorts of hype from the higher ups at the company, including boastful claims that the handset will feature Retina-display resolution at 960×640 on a 3.6-inch screen, a 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, and HDMI output all at an unlocked price right around $360. From previous renders the device was looking rather aesthetically pleasing, but some new spy shots are shedding a more generic light on this handset.

Novatel has proudly introduced the first mobile 3G router with Novatel’s own MiFi OS platform, allowing you to customize its functionality. There is a web-based portal that enables you to install web widgets viewable from the router and run native apps that take advantage of the local link. The router connects at a peak 7.2Mbps on HSPA-based 3G networks and shares it with as many as five other devices. Additional features include a microSDHC slot (up to 32GB) and a GPS navigation capability. Orange is the first carrier to offer the MiFi 3352 in the UK and charges a minimum of £49 ($79) for the router with a £15 ($24) contract plan that offers 1GB at any time, 1GB off-peak and unlimited BT Wi-Fi.
Following CULV notebooks, Tonino Lamborghini releases in Hong Kong its Spyder line of luxury mobile phones. There are six models, S-600, S-610, S-620, S-670, S-680 and S-685, all have a luxurious box and packaging and come with a Tonino Lamborghini-branded headset.
All these Spyder phones have 316L-grade stainless steel casing and sapphire screen. Every component of the phones are ha-crafted and hand-polished. The higher-end S-670, S-680 and S-685 have rose gold, gold and black/gold PVD finishes, while the S-600 gets DLC(Diamond-Like Coating) and S-610 及 S-620 have black PVD finish.
The Tonino Lamborghini Spyder phones come with a 2.2-inch 240×320 LCD display, a 3 Megapixel camera with VGA video recording, a front camera. They support quad-band 2.75GB GSM/EDGE networks but not 3G. The prices range from HK$13,800 (US$1781) to HK$21,800 (UIS$2813).
